Love, a word that symbolizes the union between two
hearts within affinity or out of the affinity ring, upholds everyone’s sight to
live. Love is actually an abstract feeling that we have, so it is hard to
picture it in a material form. Many people have the wrong idea about love and
therefore, believe it to exist between girl and a boy. But the reality is that there
are other forms of love that inhere in different relationship dynamics such as
mother-son, father-son, mother-daughter, father-daughter and the other obscure
ones involving relatives, friends, celebrities etc.
Have you ever fallen in love? Regardless of your
answers, let me tell you that I have fallen in love with my mother, dad, brother,
sister, with my friends, relatives, celebrities and so on. Why do I feel other’s
happiness to be my own happiness, other’s sorrow to be my own sorrow and above
all, other’s life to be my own life? Is it because of my love. I wonder if it
causes any problem in any step of my life. But I believe such love only makes
life beautiful and meaningful. As human being, we cannot exist in this world
without love because this entire world abounds in love and connects one to
another through the bonds of love.
Not only human beings but also animals and birds
love each other. A mother crow goes out
in search of food early on the morning to feed her nestlings because she loves
them more than she loves herself. This kind of love is also typical of other
species that show love to their offspring. Yet, despite being perfumed super
creatures, thousands and thousands of people are deprived of love in this
entire world. Orphans and street children are deprived of love from their
parents while physically and mentally disabled individuals are deprived of love
from their desired ones.
Today, in this post modern age, love’s definition
has gradually changed and as has its nature. Love now has been very cheap and
has even lost its intrinsic value. Likewise, now-a-days love can be accessed through
cell phones, internet and newspapers. There is also a bad influence of the
western culture on the Nepalese culture and tradition. It’s for this reason
that we youths today should worry about false notion’s of love and should
change our concepts regarding love.
